MBSR / MBCT Professionals
The Principles & Standards for MBSR teachers, cited on the website of the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, includes the following as an essential element in the development of MBSR teachers:
“Regular attendance at teacher-led silent meditation retreats of 7 to 10 days. We strongly recommend that all aspiring and engaged MBSR teachers attend retreats in the Western Vipassana tradition, because this tradition closely reflects and serves as a foundation for the spirit, practice and attitudes of MBSR.”
